On September 7th and 19th, NACCHO, in partnership with World Institute on Disability (WID), celebrated National Preparedness Month with a webinar series, focusing on supporting people with disabilities and those with access and functional needs. This two-part webinar series focused on providing tools, resources, and recommendations for local health departments to provide disability-inclusive emergency and disaster preparedness and response. Speakers included Sara Lyons, Senior Program Analyst at NACCHO; Uyen Tran, Program Analyst at NACCHO; and Dawn Skaggs, Emergency, Disaster, and Climate Resilience Director at World Institute on Disability.
This webinar series was supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of a financial assistance award to the CDC Foundation totaling $1,900,000 with 100 percent funded by CDC/HHS.
