With support from the CDC, NACCHO is looking for two local health departments to develop 4 to 5 page case studies on an issue in public health ethics. Examples of case studies may be found on CDC’s Public Health Ethics Training Materials webpage here: https://www.cdc.gov/os/integrity/phethics/trainingmaterials.htm
To complement the existing resources, the goal of this project is to develop a set of case studies that are written by local health departments themselves, based on real issues faced by local communities every day. Two awards of $2,500 each are available to cover staff time for writing and the period of performance will be from January 1, 2023 – May 31, 2023. While the development of these resources will greatly benefit the field and other LHDs, given the small size of the award, our goal is to make the process as easy as possible and provide as much support as needed along the way. There will be opportunities to meet regularly with NACCHO and CDC to discuss the case studies and brainstorm ideas on presentation and content.
The RFP may be found here and the applications are due on Friday, December 2, 2022. Please reach out with any questions to Ashley Edmiston, Director of Workforce Development, [email protected].
