On behalf of the Preparedness Summit Conference Planning Committee, thank you to all of the 2024 Preparedness Summit attendees, speakers, presenters, sponsors, and exhibitors for your enthusiasm and engagement from March 25 to 28. The Preparedness Summit hosted over 2,800 participants in Cleveland, OH, and virtually. The conference theme, Public Health, Healthcare, and Emergency Management: Aligning to Address Cascading Challenges, provided an opportunity for sectors to come together, align missions, and discover better ways to work as true partners to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.
In-person attendees participated in over 200 workshops, learning sessions, partnership case studies, and demonstrations in addition to plenaries, poster sessions, networking opportunities, and a robust exhibit hall. Seven Town Hall sessions allowed attendees to learn and share perspectives around key preparedness issues. During a special Sharing Session with Dr. Paul Friedrichs, inaugural Director of the White House Office of Pandemic Preparedness and Response Policy (OPPR), attendees discussed how OPPR can integrate the perspectives of state and local public health leaders into national pandemic preparedness efforts.
In addition to over 70 livestreamed sessions throughout the conference, virtual attendees had access to on-demand sessions.
