To increase the capacity of LHDs in healthcare infection prevention and control, NACCHO, in partnership with CDC’s Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion, is excited to announce the 2024 scholarship opportunity for LHD’s current staff to obtain a Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or Associate-Infection Prevention and Control (a-IPC).
NACCHO is providing funding to strengthen LHD capacity for healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and antimicrobial resistance (AR) prevention and response through the Building Up Infection Prevention and Control in Local Departments in Healthcare-Associated Infections and Antimicrobial Resistance (BUILD HAIAR) Project.
NACCHO spoke with two LHDs, the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH), to learn how each LHD has taken a One Health approach to tackling AMR in their community.
