NACCHO is excited to announce that Project Public Health Ready (PPHR) National Reviewer applications are now open for the 2023 Review Cycle.
As part of the Project Public Health Ready application process, applicants develop their application over the course of nine months and submit their application for national review. NACCHO recruits and trains national reviewers from across the country to assess each application’s level of compliance with PPHR criteria. Volunteering as a PPHR National Reviewer is a great opportunity to assist NACCHO and the local public health preparedness community. Past reviewers have found the knowledge gained through this process beneficial to their own preparedness work.
National Reviewers will be required to commit to the following:
- A one-hour, online reviewer orientation and training webinar and an online training assessment in August.
- An independent review of 3 applications over a six-week span beginning in September. (The average reviewer can complete these reviews in approximately 50 hours).
- Four conference calls with the review team to discuss various issues with the applications. These calls will take place periodically during the review cycle during regular business hours.
- One mandatory in-person meeting around mid-October. (NACCHO will cover appropriate travel, accommodations, and meals for this meeting).
Interested applicants should complete an application by June 30 for consideration. Applicants will be notified of the results no later than Friday, July 14.
