Join CDC for a virtual town hall meeting on Wednesday, June 28, 1:00-5:00 PM EDT, to share input on the creation of a network of regional preparedness and response centers. CDC is seeking public input on opportunities and challenges for designing and implementing the new network per requirements established in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023. During the town hall, members of the public can share challenges and opportunities from their own preparedness and response experiences that may help shape the new network.
Through presentations and discussions, the town hall will focus on strengths and limitations of past programs and new program priorities. Past programs include Centers for Public Health Preparedness (CPHPs), Preparedness and Emergency Response Learning Centers (PERLCs), and Preparedness and Emergency Response Research Centers (PERRCs). Town hall discussions will also focus on how CDC can design and implement regional centers to best meet the needs of STLT health departments. Future CDC funding opportunities will use input from the town hall to design and implement a network of regional centers for public health preparedness and response.
